BREAKFAST

Brunch & Cake
To have breakfast at Brunch & Cake, you probably have to stand in line for a while. But no worries, it will be worth it: a big bowl of yogurt and fresh fruit, well filled bagels and honest coffee, all presented originally and Instagram-proof. Carrer d’Enric Granados 19 / Barcelona

Tropico
Trópico is a great spot if you're looking for a delicious and healthy brunch! This place has a great atmosphere and the interior is very nice. Choose from a selection of healthy and colorful juices, smoothies, and other tasty breakfast and lunch dishes. Definitely worth a visit! Trópico has a very central location, just a short walk from the La Rambla. Even tough the place is most famous for its breakfast and lunch menu, they also have a dinner menu inspired by different exotic locations. Carrer del Marquès de Barberà 24 / Barcelona

Petit Pot

You can find this lovely bistro close to Plaça Catalunya in the city center, which makes it a perfect place to start a shopping day or some sightseeing. Having breakfast at Petit Pot is only possible during the week, in weekends they serve a fine brunch. Plaça d’Urquinaona 4 / Barcelona

LUNCH

Caravelle
Caravelle is Barcelona’s slice of Shoreditch and has the location in El Raval which is popular for brunch. The minimalist restaurant with its immaculate white walls, dark wooden furniture and its low-hanging industrial lamps, is the perfect spot to eat hipster food while drink Instagram-worthy coffee. From avocado on toast with poached eggs, to coconut French Toast with strawberries and ice cream, the restaurant offers a wide range of homemade, good-quality ingredients. Its main aim is to provide good food also at a good price. Carrer del Pintor Fortuny 31 / Barcelona

Flax & Kale

The menu at Flax & Kale is mainly vegetarian, but there’s also some fish if you like so. And if you prefer to eat completely vegan, gluten free or raw, that’s no problem at all. The juices are delicious! Carrer dels Tallers 74B / Barcelona

Can Dendê

Can Dendê is one of Barcelona’s premier brunch spots. Located in the area of Poble Nou, this wonderful brunch restaurant delights locals and tourists. The pink lemonade and peach iced tea are both delicious and refreshing. The menu includes things such as pancakes, french toast and granola with banana and fresh seasonal fruits. They also serve eggs scrambled or fried with pancakes, bagels, smoked salmon, ricotta or bacon. They also serve larger dishes like a salad or beef burger. Carrer Ciutat de Granada 44 / Barcelona

Bar de Pla
Bar de Pla has that quintessentially old-school tapas bar feel, with its mix of barstool seating, informal wooden tables and chairs, and Barcelona-style hydraulic tiles on the floor. The atmosphere is jovial and very informal—just the way a real tapas bar should be. Open all day and popular with locals and visitors alike, Bar de Pla is one of those places that stays busy from noon 'til midnight. Carrer de Montcada 2 / Barcelona

DINNER

Quimet & Quimet
Founded in 1914, the Quimet & Quimet restaurant is one of the best known tapas bars in Barcelona. This popularity has been achieved thanks to the quality of their dishes and customer service. That is why it is usually filled every day of the week by local people and many foreigners with their travel guides. It must be said that it is not difficult to fill the Quimet and Quimet because of its size, only 30 people are necessary for the place to burst. Carrer del Poeta Cabanyes 25 / Barcelona

Elsa y Fred

Elsa y Fred is probably not the kind of restaurant you pass by coincidentally. Named after a romantic Argentinian movie, Elsa y Fred, the place gives you the feeling of entering a living room from many decades ago. It is very cosy and – just like the movie – kind of romantic. They serve delicious tapas and as they call themselves a ‘gastro bar’ you can expect those classics with a twist. The food at Elsa Y Fred is tasty but it has to be said: the meals are somewhat small, always good to know. Carrer del Rec Comtal 11 / Barcelona

Nakashita
One of the best sushi places in town is Nakashika, in the barrio of El Born. Everything is being prepared freshly right before your eyes. The Japanese noodle soup is also very recommendable! Carrer del Rec Comtal 15 / Barcelona

La Flauta

More than well-known in downtown, the truth is that La Flauta has been gaining more and more fans during its more than two decades of existence. With a name that reminds us of the speciality of the house ('flauta' is the name given to a long, thin type of bread with which they elaborate their famous sandwhiches), this two-floor restaurant with simple, young atmosphere is like a magnet that attracts young and noy so young people looking for good food and better value for money. Quite a lot of people know the qualitis of La Flauta and, as reservations are not accepted, the waiting time is unavoidable. Carrer d' Aribau 23 / Barcelona

DRINKS

Ocaña
Plaça Reial is a perfect square to enjoy some good food and drinks, but at night the place turns into a party area. Ocaña is one of our favorites, mainly because of the great cocktails and fine dance music. Plaça Reial 13-15 / Barcelona

Paradiso

Hidden in El Born you can find Paradiso, one of the coolest cocktail bars in town. From the outside, it looks like you can only get some pastrami here, but inside the most beautiful cocktails are being shaken and there’s always a good atmosphere, both for a good conversation and for dancing. Carrer de Rera Palau 4 / Barcelona

La Xampanyeria
La Xampanyeria was founded in 1969, and it has become a must-see for all those people who want to have a different view of Barcelona. A place to feel the atmosphere of the old bars of Barceloneta (typical fishing quarter) and where you can enjoy its famous champagne and sparkling wines, in addition to taste a wide selection of sandwiches and tapas. Carrer de la Reina Cristina 7 / Barcelona
