Explora Patagonia was designed as the perfect base from where to explore Torres del Paine National Park. With an exclusive location and unparalleled views, you can choose among 40 explorations –either hiking or horseback riding– to some of the circuits of the renowned W and other less explored routes that will help you get familiarized with the typical geography and wildlife of Patagonia. On the shores of Lake Pehoe, it has breathtaking views of the Paine ridge and the granite towers. Its construction is based around essential luxuries, allowing the traveler to inhabit the remote location in its essence without distractions. Wood plays a fundamental role in its design, with species such as lenga, cypress and almendrillo.

The 49 rooms of explora Patagonia are designed to take full advantage of the silence, privacy, and spaciousness of the surrounding landscape, ensuring deep rest after a long day of exploration. At explora, we actively seek disconnection from everyday routine, which is why the rooms are not equipped with televisions or Wi-Fi, which is only available in the hotel’s common areas.

Children

All ages are welcome, though there are no facilities or menus for kids. Rather, bring older, outdoorsy kids for ‘guess-what-I-did-on-holiday’ bragging rights. One extra bed (for ages 12 and under) can be added to all rooms, on request

You’ve got to travel far away to expercience the end of the known world – five hours from Chilean city Punta Arenas, in fact. Explora Patagonia has the distinction of being one of the only hotels at the heart of Torres del Paine National Park.

Connecting to Punta Arenas by way of Santiago, Chile: Upon arrival to Santiago de Chile’s International Airport, you must connect to the city of Punta Arenas, approximately three and a half hours away. From Punta Arenas Airport, you will be driven to Explora Patagonia by a member of the team, approximately 4 and half hours away and according to a pre-set schedule, with a stop to rest and have lunch.

Connecting to Cerro Castillo by way of El Calafate and Buenos Aires: Upon arrival to Buenos Aires Airport, you must take a connecting three and a half hour-flight to El Calafate. From El Calafate, take a commercial bus or transfer to the Chilean border approximately 4 hours away. Upon arriving at Cerro Castillo, a member of the team of Explora Patagonia will drive you to the hotel. The schedule for this transfer is programmed for 12:00 noon. If you require another schedule, you must coordinate a private transfer service with our reservation team.
